Creating a fully inclusive play space for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) in Norfolk was a sensitive yet rewarding project. The project goals were to provide a safe, accessible, and joyful environment for children with various, often terminal, illnesses.

The site, previously undeveloped and sloped, required careful grading to ensure accessibility and safety. Proludic’s team designed and installed inclusive play equipment for the children to enjoy. At the same time, a landscape architecture firm developed the master plan. The inclusive play project design incorporated tactile and sensory elements, sloping pathways, and moving components to cater to children of all abilities.

Additionally, community involvement, including feedback from the resident children, was crucial in ensuring the space met diverse needs. Funded by hospice patrons and local businesses, the project resulted in a state-of-the-art play area that offers respite and joy. Ultimately the new playground for The Nook Children’s Hospice EACH’s vision and positively impacting the community.
