Havant Borough Council, in collaboration with Proludic, has completed a £200,000 renovation of the seaside play park at Eastoke Corner on Hayling Island. Our team designed, created, and installed this space to cater to the needs of all visitors. This includes equipment and spaces for  children, teenagers, and fitness enthusiasts

The park now features an inclusive exercise zone for all ages.  to get involved and learn to love fitness. The area includes strength training stations, cardio equipment, a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), and a floor exercise area.

A key highlight is the custom-built, wheelchair-accessible train unit inspired by the local Hayling Light Railway. This unique, bespoke play structure unit enhances social play and ensures accessibility for all users. This development utilised durable materials like hot-zinc-dip galvanization and powder coating to withstand the coastal environment.

The new Eastoke Corner MUGA offers an open layout for visitors and the local community to explore and enjoy various sports. Additionally, the ACTI’FUN Outdoor Fitness Equipment includes accessible features like wheelchair-friendly monkey bars, ensuring the park is a welcoming and comprehensive space for all visitors.

With just a few clicks, you can gain instant access to a secure online platform that allows you to schedule playground maintenance appointments, track service requests, and receive real-time updates on the status of your equipment. This user-friendly portal simplifies the process of ensuring the safety and functionality of your playground, providing peace of mind to both administrators and users. Playground and sports area operators must carry out effective inspection and playground maintenance following best practices to keep their playgrounds, outdoor gyms and sports areas safe for public use and increase their service life. With appropriate inspection, maintenance and community buy-in, your Proludic facility should continue to provide play and sports opportunities for many generations to come. Proludic has been installing play and sports spaces for over 20 years in the UK (over 35 years globally) with many of our first playground and sports facilities still in regular use today. Since the publication of the European safety standards in 1998 and their subsequent revisions in 2008 and 2017, the obligations of the owner/operator and the equipment supplier have been clearly defined in the standards EN 1176 and EN 1177. A well-inspected and maintained play space reduces an owner’s exposure to litigation and ensures the play area’s risk remains as low as reasonably practical. To help you find the right maintenance service for your playground, Proludic offers full support with a suite of inspection and maintenance packages to ensure your play spaces are safe and available for use by your community for years to come.

In 2021, Theale Parish Council embarked on a journey to upgrade its outdoor play facilities on the recreation ground. The Council decided to replace the existing playground and provide more facilities for older children, teenagers and adults while reducing anti-social behaviour and combatting obesity in the process. Proludic was selected not only to produce designs for these two exciting projects but also to oversee a consultation process that would give residents the power to shape the final designs.

The final design for the toddler and junior play area featured a new coloured wetpour safer surfacing and also included accessible swings (J493), age-appropriate Kanope & Diabolo multiplay units (J5610 & J38124), trampoline squares (R34-ETP-000A), a rodeo board (J3501) and an inclusive roundabout (J2409). Additional items for the toddlers were a fun playhouse (J234) and a seesaw springer (J852). Outside the fenced-off play area, a 4-seat hurricane swing (R24-ITY-724) was located to appeal to older children (aged 5 plus).
